Join Rocket Cinema on 9/25 as we celebrate the life and legend of Dolly Parton with a double feature fit for a queen. First up: the one, the only 9 to 5 (1981) — Dolly’s iconic big-screen debut alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, proof she could steal a movie as easily as she stole a chorus.
Then things get delightfully campy with Rhinestone (1984), her fish-out-of-water romp with Sylvester Stallone as a cab driver she bets she can turn into a country star. Critics were unkind at the time, but it’s exactly the kind of glittery, big-hearted mess that made Dolly impossible not to love.
