Highway Lights is excited to perform a meditative ambient chamber music set at Move Studios.  Their music features sweeping cello solos and immersive sound design and drone.  Come prepared for an hour of relaxing music in a peaceful atmosphere.  A variety of seating options will be available, but you are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and stretch out.  Information about the group is below.  Listen to their most recent recording HERE.

Ambient chamber group Highway Lights is cellist Sara Nelson and synthesist Justin Sherburn. Their meditative expanses of drone sculpture and sweeping melodies have been called "stunning and transcendent" by the Austin Chronicle. Sara Nelson is a member of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Tosca String Quartet. Justin Sherburn performs live scores to silent films under the name Montopolis.

Cellist Sara Nelson has performed with world-renowned artists such as Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovett, and Terry Bozzio.  A founding member of the Tosca String Quartet, she has recorded and toured extensively with pop icon David Byrne.  Her cello work has been featured in films such as “Waking Life” and the TV series “From Dusk Til Dawn”.

Justin Sherburn has had a varied career as a recording artist and touring musician, working with Okkervil River and the 8 1/2 Souvenirs among others, sharing the stage with legends such as Willie Nelson, Roky Erickson, Brian Setzer and Wilco, and appearing on the David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and Jimmy Fallon television shows, as well as performing at major festivals around the globe.
